Canadian-born designer Jay Manuel will be creating his own clothing line, ATTITUDE Jay Manuel, for Sears, reports Coco Perez
The America’s Next Top Model personality and host of Canada’s Next Top Model, Manuel has been appointed as the creative director of the new clothing and accessories line. The fall-winter 2011 collection will be presented as part of LG Fashion Week in Toronto on March 30.
"I’m thrilled to be working with Sears Canada to make fashion accessible for women who love to be beautiful," said Manuel "Throughout my career I’ve traveled the world, working with designers and creative visionaries in the fashion business, learning the art of women’s design. A good fit and draping fabric was something I learned at an early age, as my grandfather was a respected tailor."
"The time is right to return home to Canada and bring all my worldly inspirations to a fashion line that empowers women."
Manuel will be involved in all aspects of design and development, as well as in-store retail and marketing.
The ATTITUDE Jay Manuel collection includes women’s fashions, handbags, shoes and accessories. The line will be available in Sears stores across Canada, and the designer hopes to introduce his line to the U.S. within the next year.
