Jay-Z already starting new solo album

Rapper says collaborating with Kanye West has his creative juices flowing.

Rapper Jay-Z says that the experience of working on his upcoming collaborative album Watch the Throne with Kanye West was so positive, it gave him a creative kickstart to begin working on his next solo album, reports MTV.

While Watch the Throne hasn’t even been released yet, Jay-Z says he has already finished two songs for his future solo LP – a follow-up to 2009’s Blueprint 3. The rapper also revealed that he has at least four other song ideas ready to go.

"I know exactly the tone and the whole feel of the album," said Jay-Z. "I think when you experience creativity, you should get it out as much as possible."

The new LP will be the rapper’s 12th solo studio album. Despite his long and prolific career, Jay-Z claims that his two new songs are the best first pair of tunes he’s ever had at the start of a new album.

Watch the Throne has no official release date yet, but pre-order receipts list August 2 as the expected date of delivery.
