According to Billboard.com, at one point he told the crowd: "I’m from Brooklyn, just thought I’d remind you we’re going to rule the world in 2013. And in order to do that don’t let anybody hold you back or put their anxieties or fears on you.

"I want to thank you. You could have been anywhere in the world tonight. but you’re here in [venue] The motherf*****g Barclays Center."

Chris joined Jay for a third time to sing the track ‘Heart of The City’ while singer Bridget Kelly joined the rapper on a number of songs, and sang Alicia Keys’ part on set closer ‘Empire State of Mind’.

Guests at the show included Chris and Jay’s wives, Beyonce Knowles and Gwyneth Paltrow, singers Cheryl Cole, Christina Aguilera and Taylor Swift and One Direction star Harry Styles.
