Jay-Z-Kanye West album launches this month

Watch the Throne collaborative album debuts this month.

Watch the Throne is an upcoming collaboration album between Kanye West and Jay-Z to be released this month. While hosting a New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas, Kanye West let it slip that Watch the Throne will be released sometime between the week of January 9 and January 15.

While partying at the Marquee in Las Vegas, West’s statements were caught on a camera phone. A bottle of champagne in hand, a microphone in the other and Jay-Z at his side, West said to the crowd that their album could be released “within a week.”

Although the announcement of the talented rapper was not formalized in an official statement, it is consistent with what he said earlier. Towards the end of 2010, West said of his collaboration with Jay-Z: "We’re going to the south of France at the end of this month, just to record new ideas," he said. "We’ll probably be done with the album in a day or whatever."

"We’ve done about five [songs] so far… but we got some more. But think about it, it’s really easy; he only has to think of 10 verses." and they would “probably be done with the album in a day or something like that.”

West, 33, first rose to fame as a producer for Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records. His latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, is both a critical and commercial success.
