Rapper Jay-Z teamed up with Nike to create a very limited edition of the Nike Air Force 1 All Black running shoe.
There is a charity auction taking place during the World Basketball Festival to auction off the shoes. The auction is part of festival which started last week (August 12) and runs until August 22 in New York City.
All proceeds from the auction will go to Jay-Z’s Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. His foundation "provides financial assistance to promising individuals upon acceptance into any accredited institution of higher learning."
Each of the five pairs represents one of the countries presently participating in the World Basketball Festival: United States, France, Brazil, China and Puerto Rico.
Hypebeast.com reports: "Only two pairs of each of the five designs will be created, one for the winning bidder and one for the man behind the design, JAY-Z."
Nike gave the shoes to the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. The foundation is partnering with eBay on the charity auction.
