According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural) will co-star with John Cusack and Ken Watanabe in Shanghai.
Morgan will play Connor, an American killed during Japan’s occupation of Shanghai, just before the Pearl Harbor invasion. Connor’s friend, Paul Soames (Cusack) investigates the murder and discovers a big secret that the government is trying to conceal.
The film, written by Hossein Amini (The Four Feathers), is directed by Mikael Hafström (1408) and is being produced by the Weinstein Company.
Shanghai is currently in production in Thailand, and is expected to be released on December 25.
This summer, Jeffrey Dean Morgan can be seen starring opposite Uma Thurman in The Accidental Husband, which hits the big screen on August 22.
