Amber Tamblyn will star in the lead role of the film to be directed by Takashi Shimizu and produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Taka Ichise.
Tamblyn will play the younger sister of the character played by Sarah Michelle Gellar in the original film. Tamblyn will face several of the same near-death fears, but many new characters will be doing the scaring.
The role Beals will play has not yet been determined. Arielle Kebbel and Teresa Palmer will also star.
