Jennifer Lopez talks shop

Jennifer Lopez thinks it is a great time to be an actress.

Jennifer Lopez is returning to the big screen in The Back-up Plan this month. FemaleFirst reports the singer-actress is thrilled about the big roles available to female actresses today in Hollywood.

The mother of two says: "It seems like you can work and do anything at any age… It’s a great time that people are just seeing people’s souls. It’s not so superficial any more. Women have proven that they are viable in this business, as well, and it doesn’t matter if you’re not 21 years old. It just matters that you’re great at what you do. And that’s exciting."

Lopez took some time off to give birth to her twins, Max and Emme. Their father is singer Marc Anthony. It was time to get back to work now that the twins are two years old. It’s funny that her first movie role after maternity leave was that of a woman trying to conceive who resorts to artificial insemination.

The Back-up Plan hits theatres on April 23.
