Jeremy Irons unveiled as new face of Berluti

Jeremy Irons has become the first ever face of French cobblers Berluti, who relaunched as a luxury menswear brand last year.

Jeremy Irons has been unveiled as the new face of Berluti.

The Oscar-winning actor features in a 30-second promotional video for the French shoemakers – who ventured into ready-to-wear for the first time last year – which shows the suave star gearing up for his new role.

He declares: "I like things that are well-made, that will last. Clothes do change you. I hope there are people out there who say, ‘I like those clothes’."

Jeremy has become the first ever face of the brand – which has been worn by the likes of Andy Warhol, Yves Saint Laurent and Bryan Ferry – and is rumoured to be joined by Pierre Casiraghi in the official ads, who is third in line to the throne of Monaco.

This comes after Z Zegna designer Alessandro Sartori was brought in last year to shake up the 118-year-old brand and relaunch the cobblers as a luxury lifestyle brand for men.

Berluti – which is now stocked in upmarket London department store, Harrods – is known for its relaxed yet luxurious suits and accessories, which come with expensive price tags.

The new campaign, photographed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, coincides with the company opening around 20 more stores worldwide.
