Jessica and Ashlee Simpson launch Girls fashions

Sisters join forces to launch fashion collection for tween girls.

She hasn’t revealed the sex of her baby yet, but singer, fashion mogul, and mom-to-be Jessica Simpson may be hinting that she’s having a little girl. The 31-year-old rubbed her baby bump at the launch of her Jessica Simpson Girls collection at the Belk Crabtree Mall in Raleigh, North Carolina, over the weekend.

On Saturday, November 5, she and her sister attended a launch event for their co-created tween clothing line at the U.S. mall – happily posing with fans – young and old.

Jessica beamed happily as she placed a protective hand over her rapidly growing tummy, which was visible beneath her clinging black jersey top. With her younger sister Ashlee by her side, the singer looked radiant in an all-black ensemble.

The collection will include denim, knits, hoodies, pullovers, graphic tees, outerwear and footwear, with Jessica previously telling WWD, "Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand. I’m excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today’s tweens.”

For the project, Ashlee added, "My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion."

Jessica Simpson announced her pregnancy last week by posting a photo of herself dressed up as a “mummy” on Halloween. Both Simpson and her fiancé, former pro football player Eric Johnson, whom she began dating in May 2010, are reportedly thrilled to be expecting their first child.
