After weeks of speculation, singer and reality TV star Jessica Simpson has finally confirmed she is expecting her first child with fiancé Eric Johnson, reports People.
On her Twitter page, the star posted a photo of herself dressed as mummy for Halloween, and cradling her belly. She wrote a short message to her fans: “It’s true, I am going to be a mummy.”
The 31-year-old business mogul was the subject of numerous pregnancy rumors as paparazzi continually published photos of her growing belly.
The singer has made no secret of her hope to have children with NBA star Eric Johnson. The athlete proposed in November 2010, and the couple planned to marry this fall. However, the nuptials have been postponed, most likely due to Simpson’s pregnancy.
The baby will be Jessica’s first, but the second for the Simpson family, as big sister Ashlee has son, Bronx, born in November 2008.
Simpson has not released details regarding the due date, although experts speculate she is six months along, which means the baby would be due in January or February.
