During an interview, Elle magazine asked the singer if she was ever abused. Simpson responded, "I don’t want to talk about it, but I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would tell people to take their heart and run."
The star also revealed that all of the songs on her new country album, Do You Know, are autobiographical. Her song Remember That is about physical and mental abuse.
