Singer Jessica Simpson dated singer John Mayer for nine months before they split in 2007. She says she still has feelings for him, even after he revealed details about their sex life in a recent Playboy interview.
She told David Letterman last night (March 10), "I will always care about him. I think he’s a great person, a great musician, but I was very disappointed by the article."
Though Simpson said she was shocked by her personal life being made so public, she did admit that Mayer did give her a sort of compliment.
She told Dave, "Normally you’d think someone you care about would keep those details to himself. It was definitely a compliment, in a way. I don’t really want people to know that about me."
Simpson also said she is still on good terms with another ex, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, even though he did dump her on her birthday.
She graciously said, "Tony is great, still a friend of mine."
She had more to say about John Mayer when she appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show last week. The singer said she didn’t recognize the man Mayer was now. She also said she did not accept his apology.
