Jim Carrey Ends Deal with United Talent

Comic actor Jim Carrey has ended his relationship with United Talent Agency.

Carrey, who is best known for his comedic roles in cinema, worked with the talent agency for more than 15 years.  The firm presented Carrey with his first big film opportunity, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective in 1994, which was followed by a sequel in 1995, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls.  The Canadian actor also enjoyed massive success with the film The Mask.

The decision to leave United Talent came after the projects Believe It or Not and Used Guys were cancelled.  Recently, the 44 year-old actor has found that he isn’t making the kind of money that he has in the past.  His next role will be providing a voice for the animated film Horton Hears a Who for 20th Century Fox Animation.

"Mr. Carrey has shared an enormous amount of success with UTA over the years for which he is truly grateful," Carrey’s publicist, Marleah Leslie, said. "It was a difficult decision to make, but he felt it was time to move on."
