Jim Carrey Hits Television

According to Variety, Jim Carrey will be the co-creator and executive producer of an upcoming comedy to air on HBO.

Comedian Lisa Lampanelli already accepted the lead role, which is a woman who unexpectedly inherits a comedy club in Los Angeles. Kario Salem (The Score) has signed on as screenwriter.

The project marks a return to the Canadian actor’s roots, since he started out doing stand-up at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles during the 80s.

Carrey has wrapped up shooting the black comedy, I Love You Phillip Morris, also starring Ewan McGregor.
