Carrey and Gyllenhaal will co-star in the new film version of the musical Damn Yankees.
The show, which hit Broadway in 1955, tells the story of Joe Boyd, who makes a pact with the devil to help out his favourite baseball team.
In exchange for his soul, he will become the star batter, Joe Hardy. The man has a chance to break the pact, but the expiration date lands right in the middle of the World Series. However, he will have to face temptations the devil throws his way to seal the deal.
Carrey will play the devil, while Gyllenhaal will be Boyd.
Damn Yankees already came out on film in 1958, starring Ray Walston and Gwen Verdon.
In the meantime, we can see Jim Carrey in I Love You Phillip Morris, which doesn’t yet have a release date.
