JLo looks for a new label

Jennifer Lopez’s manager, Benny Medina, released a statement saying "Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction her career as an actress and recording artist. She is grateful and appreciative to everyone at Sony for all that they accomplished together."

However, there are whispers that the label dropped the singer-actress. Her latest single Louboutins has not been that successful. She had a disappointing performance at the American Music Awards in November. Her last film El Cantante earned only $7.5 million. These are all signs that Sony Music Epic Records concluded Jennifer Lopez’s star is on the decline.

JLo now needs to find a new label. She is rumoured to be in talks with Island Def Jam’s L.A. Reid.

The release of her new album has been delayed until April. She is scheduled to host Saturday Night Live this weekend and also perform as the musical guest.
