With their surprising split announced just last Friday (July 15), it has been revealed that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony nearly parted ways two years ago. after Lopez learned her husband had cheated on her.
According to US Weekly, 42-year-old Anthony had a fling with a flight attendant he met aboard a private flight in 2009.
Prepared to walk upon discovery of the tryst, Lopez was reportedly convinced to stay and attend couple’s counseling in order to mend the severed relationship.
The couple’s recently released statement on their split claimed, "We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters."
Parents to three-year-old twins Emme and Max, Lopez and Anthony have had their share of relationship challenges. Anthony is known for his controlling, jealous personality and it is believed that his wife’s successful career and business endeavors have been a factor in their recent decision to separate.
