Phoenix jumped off the stage into the crowd to fight an audience member at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel on Wednesday (March 11).
Phoenix dove into the crowd when the man began to heckle him, abruptly ending the show and resulting in the two men being restrained by bodyguards.
However, a source told the New York Post that the whole thing was staged. Many believe that the incident was purposely carried out to be part of a documentary about Phoenix’s career, under the direction of his brother-in-law, Casey Affleck.
"(It was) completely staged. It was a fake fight. Nobody threw a punch. They were just holding onto each other," revealed the source.
