Joe Perry hiding from Steven Tyler?

Aerosmith guitarist is AWOL while lead singer tries to get the band together in studio.

If you thought the ongoing saga between Steven Tyler and Aerosmith was finally over, dream on, as the band says. After a year filled with misadventures, one more ridiculous than the next, it’s looking as though 2011 is promising a new variety of twists on the Tyler-Perry feud.

Now that Steven Tyler has finished his guest judge stint for American Idol, he was hoping to take advantage of his free time in Los Angeles to record new material with his bandmates, but confesses to Rolling Stone magazine that he has been unable to locate Perry.

"I’m trying to rally the guys together,” said Tyler. “We’re having trouble getting Joe [Perry]. I don’t know where he is, but just come down to L.A. at the end of January sometime. I’ve had enough downtime.

"As far as Joe goes, look, the guy’s got LSD — Lead Strummer Disorder," Tyler told the magazine. "We’ve been brothers forever. He’s just going through his thing. I think the rings of Saturn are composed entirely of unrecorded Joe Perry licks floating around in the ether somewhere."

A few years after the release of their 2001 album Just Push Play, Tyler and Perry had started recording new songs, but old tensions between the duo resurfaced, and since then the group not released any new material, other than one track on a cover album Honkin’ on Bobo released in 2004.
