Mayer says that he was an idiot for breaking up with the actress, and admits that he’s had a hard time getting over it, reports People.
The musician stated, "I’ve never really gotten over it. It was one of the worst times of my life."
Mayer and Aniston, 40, began dating in April 2008. They had a rather unstable romance, and then broke up in August 2008. However, they reconciled, only to break up again and remain friends.
Mayer, 32, also revealed that his sex life is not even close to living up to his womanizing reputation. He claims that he’s been rejected numerous times, and that he hopes to meet a gal who will take him seriously.
Last October, rumours began to circulate that Mayer and Aniston were back together again. However, the rumours were denied as the two are only good friends.
In addition to Jennifer Aniston, Mayer has also dated singer Jessica Simpson and actress Jennifer Love Hewitt.
