John Mayer Was Not The One for Jessica Simpson

The singer, who broke up with husband Nick Lachey in 2005 after three years of marriage, has hooked up with many men since the breakup, including Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine and musician John Mayer.

According to Starpulse.com, the star claims that she wasn’t herself during her past relationships that followed her divorce, and admits that she was taking on the personalities of those she dated.

She expressed, "I was going through a lot of pain. I didn’t try anything to change my life other than dating different types of guys and conforming to their worlds. I thought I had to be artsier, more intellectual…John believed in the Jessica Simpson that’s within. He cherished our love. He helped make me the woman I am today. John is going to be an amazing man for someone, but I know that I was supposed to be with someone else."

Simpson is now dating football player Tony Romo, while John Mayer is seeing actress Jennifer Aniston.
