John Travolta says career lows don’t bother him.

The ‘Pulp Fiction’ actor – whose Hollywood career has spanned four decades – has revealed he doesn’t worry about suffering lulls in his acting career because he feels incredibly blessed to still be working in films.

He explained to The Guardian newspaper: "You have to understand my origins. I’m from a working class family; we didn’t have a lot, but we had the arts. You’re talking to a guy who makes a living at doing what he loves doing – acting, singing and dancing. So any career ups and downs were not that significant to me."

While he isn’t bothered by dips in his career, the 59-year-old star admits the "losses" he’s suffered in his life – including the tragic death of his son Jett at the age of just 16, and the recent loss of good friend James Gandolfini – weigh heavy on his heart.

He said: "The only things that really powerfully impinged on me were my losses and there were many in my life. Those had an impact, but short of that, movies – I love them, but they’re not life."

The ‘Killing Season’ actor and his wife Kelly Preston, 50, mourned the loss of their eldest son Jett in 2009 when the teenager – who had autism and suffered from seizures – succumbed to a deadly seizure.

Elsewhere, John – who also has daughter, Ella Bleu, 13, and two-year-old son Benjamin with Kelly – heralded his friendship with late ‘Sopranos’ star James as being a "true connection".

The actor previously revealed his close pal, who died of a heart attack last month aged 51, consoled him after Jett’s death and "would not leave the city until I was OK".
