Johnny Depp made a unexpected visit to Great Ormond Street Hospital yesterday (January 14) to deliver $2 million. The 44-year-old actor wanted to emphasize his eternal appreciation for the care given to his daughter last year.
In March 2007, Lily-Rose, who was 8 years of age at that time, spent 8 days at the hospital, for reasons that Depp is not revealing. In addition to the generous donation, the star invited doctors and nurses of the hospital to the premiere of his movie Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
In November, Depp had also visited patients at this hospital in his Jack Sparrow costume. Depp’s generosity has prompted Disney to invest $20 million to the Great Ormond Street Hospital to help with their renovations.
