Johnny Depp may not try to collect the $10.4 million awarded from Amber Heard’s trial

Johnny Depp ‘s lawyers hinted today (June 8) that the actor may not seek to collect the money owed to him by his ex-wife Amber Heard following the verdict in the high-profile lawsuit.

Last week, the actress was ordered to pay her ex-husband the sum of 10.4 million dollars for defamation.

Attorneys for the star of the film series Pirates of the Caribbeansay the actor is satisfied with his “total victory” that cleared his name.

Ben Chew, one ofJohnny Depp’s lawyerswas interviewed on Good Morning America.

“We obviously can’t disclose communications between lawyers and clients, but as Mr. Depp stated … it was never about money for Mr. Depp,” when asked during the trial about Amber Heard’s fear of being ruined.

“It was about restoring his reputation – and that’s what he did. This is a total victory for Johnny,” the lawyer added.

Recall that the actress’ lawyer indicated last week that it was highly unlikely that her client would be able to pay her sentence. Other sources have indicated in recent days that Amber Heard‘s net worthis about $2 million, far from the amount needed to pay her debt to her ex-husband.
