Jolie jewels to benefit children’s education

Salt star’s socially-conscious jewelry collection raises funds for Children in Crisis.

One of the best-known celebrities in the world, Salt star and mother of six, Angelina Jolie, is lending her name to another good cause.

Known for her simple, elegant style, Jolie has worked over the last nine months, in collaboration with jeweler Robert Procop, to create the ‘Style of Jolie’ jewelry collection to raise funds for charity Children in Crisis, reports People.

The collection is currently on display, by invitation only, at Julien’s Gallery in Beverly Hills, and a video provides a sneak preview of the tasteful, traditional collection.

In the video, Procop describes the jewelry as "artistic forms using gemstones as a centerpiece."

Some celebrity fans, including Robert Downey Jr’s wife Susan, wore earrings from the collection to the Academy Awards last February.

Jolie and her partner actor Brad Pitt are parents to Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, and twins Knox and Vivienne. Proceeds from the ‘Style of Jolie’ collection will benefit Children in Crisis, which was established in the UK in 1993, to help give children in poorer, war-torn nations the education necessary to help transform their lives.

At the heart of the charity’s work is the belief that education is the best possible route out of poverty, bringing hope for a better future for families, communities and over time, whole societies.
