Jon Anderson bitter about dismissal from Yes

Resents being kicked out of the group he co-founded in 1968.

Former Yes frontman Jon Anderson is still bitter about being replaced while he was away ill. He co-founded the group with bassist Chris Squire in 1968, and sang on every album except 1980’s Drama, reports Rolling Stone.

Unfortunately,in May 2008, Anderson saw his status in the legendary band begin to falter when he suffered an acute asthma attack and doctors discovered nodules on his vocal cords, forcing him into a long convalescence.

In his absence, bandmates decided to replace him with Yes tribute band singer, Canadian Benoit David. However, nobody in the band called to inform Anderson.

“They didn’t tell me anything," he said. "They were just off and running. But what can you do? I was pissed off in the beginning, but then you say, ‘Oh well, the boys want to go on tour and be rock & rollers. Let them to do it.’”

Now recovered, his place in the group he co-founded was no longer free, forcing him to pursue a solo career.
