Jonathan Drouin could be left out tonight by Jared Bednar

Just yesterday, I told you about Jonathan Drouin.

I told you about the former CH because things aren’t going too well for him in Colorado right now.

He practiced on the Avalanche’s fourth offensive unit yesterday morning in preparation for the team’s game tonight against the Blues…

And this morning, after the club’s morning skate, Jared Bednar told the media that it was possible that Drouin would be left out against the St. Louis outfit, along with Tomas Tatar.

The Avalanche will be playing their 9th game of the season tonight… and there’s already talk of the Quebecer being a healthy scratch .

When he arrived in Denver, it was said that all the elements were in place for him to bounce back.

The exact opposite is happening right now… And the way things are going for him, let’s just say it would be surprising if that were the case.

The Avalanche are off to a good start this season (6-2-2), and that, too, says a lot about the situation.

If the club doesn’t need him when it wins… It’s hard to believe the club will need him when it loses.

It’s also hard to believe that Drouin and Tatar will play in the playoffs when they could find themselves in the press gallery at the very start of the regular season…

Jared Bednar’s team is aiming for the big time this year, and the head coach is already preparing by testing things out and sending his best players into the fray.

The Avalanche have a lot of depth, both offensively and defensively, and with all the talent in the team’s line-up, not every player gets the chance to play every night.

It’s a message to the two CH veterans: if you want to play, you’ve got to prove that your place in the line-up is important.

And that’s simply not the case right now.

In gusto

– He’s going to be good.

– To be continued.

– Nice analysis of the CH goalie situation.

– Looks like it’s becoming a recurring thing, by the way.
