Tonight, the Avalanche can eliminate the Winnipeg Jets in five short games. The series was shaping up to be much closer, with 14 goals scored in the first game.
After Winnipeg’s win, the club lost the next three games. Tonight, it faces elimination, much to the delight of Canadiens fans.
A few days ago, my colleague Félix Forget provided an update on Jonathan Drouin’s health, saying he would miss the first round of the playoffs.
He ended his piece by wondering how much his absence will hurt the club. After four games, it’s safe to say that with or without Drouin, Jared Bednar’s team will show no mercy to their opponents.
Earlier in the evening, François Gagnon stated that the Quebecer was aiming for a return in the second round.

Drouin is convinced he can return to action in the second round if Colorado manages to eliminate its opponents.
The RDS tipster spoke with the former Canadien, who confirmed that his lower-body injury is in fact a (very deep) cut above the knee. There’s a risk of infection, which is why Drouin can’t be in uniform.
Although his loss doesn’t seem to be hurting his team (at least for now), the Avalanche wouldn’t say no to seeing him back in the line-up. After all, facing the Golden Knights or the Stars won’t be easy.
Before thinking about the second round (and his return), Nathan MacKinnon and his team will have to finish the job.

– The Senators are interested in Travis Green.
Coaching update: Add Travis Green to the list of candidates to have interviewed with #GoSensGo. It’s a loooong list.
Green is still a strong candidate with #njdevils, but as they are interviewing other candidates, it was only fair to allow him to interview elsewhere as well.
