Josh Brolin May have New Role

Josh Brolin is in talks to play opposite Sean Penn in the next Gus Van Sant film.

Focus Features is in negotiations with Brolin to play alongside Sean Penn in Milk, a biographical drama about Harvey Milk, a gay rights activist.

Brolin would play Dan White, a San Francisco city supervisor who assassinated gay activist Harvey Milk, played by Sean Penn, and the mayor of the city, George Moscone.

Film director Gus Van Sant will be directing this drama, which will be filmed in San Francisco, where Milk was the first elected politician to openly reveal being gay.

Dustin Lance Black wrote the screenplay. In addition to No Country for Old Men, Brolin has also acted in movies such as In the Valley of Elah and American gangster. He also wrote the screenplay and directed the movie X.
