Judas Priest compilation chosen by fellow rockers

Heavy metal band calls upon other musicians to pick favorite tracks.

For their upcoming compilation album, The Chosen Few, heavy metal rockers Judas Priest have called upon some of metal’s most famous musicians to pick their favorite Priest tracks, reports Rolling Stone.

"This is a collection of songs chosen by our friends and respected peers," frontman Rob Halford told the magazine. "We hope all the metal maniacs out there will rock out to the tunes enjoyed by metal legends."

Legends who cast their vote for the album’s track-list include Steve Vai, Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Joe Striani, and Slash. Each track will also be accompanied by commentary from the musician, explaining the reasons for his choice.

The Chosen Few is expected to hit stores on October 11, just one day before Judas Priest heads out on North American leg of their farewell Epitaph world tour with a show in San Antonio, Texas on October 12. The band will spend October and November touring the U.S. and Canada and will then take a break before heading off to Japan on February 7.
