Roberts and Owen have confirmed that they will star in the Universal Pictures production. The project is scheduled to begin filming in March.
The two stars worked together previously in the Mike Nichols film Closer, in which they played a couple plagued with infidelity.
In the new project, the two actors will be directed by Tony Gilroy. The filmmaker is best known for his work on the three installments of the Bourne Identity films.
Roberts will next be seen in the film Charlie Wilson’s War along with Tom Hanks and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
