Julia Roberts Becomes an Environmentalist

Actress Julia Roberts goes from fiction to reality. Just like her character in Erin Brockovich, she has become an environmentalist.

The 38-year old actress has accepted to become the spokesperson for Earth Biofuels, a company that develops renewable forms of energy, such as biofuel and ethanol.

Julia’s implication even goes further. She will sit on the Board of directors, next to actor Morgan Freeman and singer Willie Nelson.

The actress, who won an oscar for her role in Erin Brockovich in 2001 explains: "It’s very important that we expand our use of clean energy and make a long-term commitment to it." And she added: "Biodiesel and ethanol are better for the environment and for the air we breathe."

About the similarity between her new preoccupation and the character she played on the big screen, Roberts declares: "I really admire Erin for fighting for what she believed in."
