Although Juraj Slafkovský’s start to the season hasn’t been exceptional, the CH had faith in him tonight, placing him on the first line alongside Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. It was a nice vote of confidence from the club in a youngster who had just one point (an assist) in 10 games.
Clearly, we wanted to try and get him unstuck.
And in the opening moments of the period, Slaf finally unlocked his counter, as for the first time in just over 11 months, he scored a goal in an NHL game.
Okay, he did it on the power play rather than at even strength with his two new trio mates, but he’ll take it.
