Justin Bieber Christmas concert for underprivileged kids

“I know what it is like to feel like no one cares.”

During a visit to U.S. talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Canadian teen pop star Justin Bieber was so moved by the story of a Las Vegas elementary school that he announced a $100,000 donation and plans to visit the children for a Christmas concert in December, reports Teen Music.

Over 70 percent of her students don’t have permanent homes, so every day, school principal Sherrie Gahn at Whitney Elementary School is trying to help her students live a better life.

Gahn told her story on the talk show and DeGeneres surprised the school with a $100,000 check. Bieber said that not only would he and some friends match that amount, but that he would come to the school in December to sing for the kids.

Bieber, who grew up poor, noted on Facebook, “Special Day on Ellen today…I know what it is like to feel like no one cares…remember to give back. Glad to be part of it. Much love.”

Bieber also just launched his charity Christmas album Under the Mistletoe, with a portion of album proceeds going to seven U.S. charities.
