Justin Bieber goes country

Duet with country band Rascal Flatts in the works for the singer’s next album.

Canadian pop phenomenon Justin Bieber, 16, has approached country band Rascal Flatts to record with him for his upcoming album, reports CNN.

"[Justin] asked us to do a duet with him on his next record," said Gary LeVox, the band’s lead singer, in an interview with country radio station WSIX. "It’s actually a really good song! The kid is really talented. He plays five or six different instruments really well."

The news was also confirmed through Twitter by Bieber. "I love @RascalFlatts and Im honored that they are making music with me," the pop star wrote on the micro-blogging service.

Work is already underway on Bieber’s next release. The singer was spotted at Diddy’s studio last Tuesday, recording tracks for his upcoming album, reports MTV.

This will be his second studio album, following 2010’s top hit My World 2.0. This past November, the teen artist released a remix album, My Worlds Acoustic, featuring nine acoustic versions of his previous hits, and one new song called Pray.
