Rappers Kanye West and Lil Wayne have been working together on a secret collaboration, according to Twitter messages from rapper Short Dawg and Mike Banger, house engineer for Lil Wayne’s Young Money record label.
Although the two sources posted that West and Lil Wayne hit the studio on Sunday night (January 9), there’s been no word of the project from either rapper, reports Rolling Stone. Considering that West is known to be a prolific Twitter user, silence from that camp would suggest that the collaboration is still under wraps.
There’s been no indication as to the nature of the project, but some are speculating that it may be a track for Lil Wayne’s upcoming album, Tha Carter IV.
The rappers have a history of working together. Wayne was featured on a track from West’s 2007 album, Graduation, and West performed a verse on the remix of Wayne’s single Lollipop. West has also produced some of Wayne’s previous tracks, including Let the Beat Build off of Tha Carter III in 2008.
