Kanye West announces joint album details with Jay-Z

Numerous contributors lined up for Watch the Throne album.

Kanye West is not only finalizing his next album, Twisted Dark Fantasy, due on November 15, but is also working on a joint album with another hip-hop great, Jay-Z.

Watch the Throne may eventually see the light of day in late November and provides an opportunity for both rappers to collaborate with a multitude of artists, a growing trend in rap and hip-hop over the years.

Instead of forming a group, many rappers prefer to remain independent artists, choosing when to associate with other songs and projects. Although West and Jay-Z have teamed up for a full album, they will each continue to pursue their own unique career paths, and continue to attract the hottest talent to their albums.

Watch the Throne contributors include Pete Rock, Q-Tip, Madlib, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Bon Iver, Pusha T, Swizz Beatz, RZA and Cyhi The Prynce. The duo may have a few more surprises up their sleeves.

It’s rumoured that album could drop in late November.
