Kanye West Singing in Mission: Impossible: III

Singer Kanye West will be doing the theme song for the movie Mission: Impossible: III.

Time magazine named Kanye West as the most brilliant pop music star last October.  He has 8 nominations at this year’s Grammy Awards.  With this latest endeavour, West will be following in the footsteps of artists such as U2, that did Mission: Impossible in 1996, and Limp Bizkit in 2000.

Tom Cruise stated, "As a fan of Kanye’s work, I was thrilled at the prospect of him contributing his talents to ‘M:i:III.’ We wanted to take this installment of ‘Mission’ to the next level and Kanye’s music definitely added to accomplishing that goal. As we’ve done with the film, what he’s done with the ‘Mission’ theme is going to blow people away."

Director J.J. Abrams expressed, "My goal is to take the ‘Mission’ franchise and re-interpret it to make a movie that is familiar, but absolutely brand new. Kanye has done just that with his version of the classic Lalo Schifrin theme, and we’re thrilled to be working with him."

Mission: Impossible: III  is starringTom Cruise, directed by J.J. Abrams. The rest of the cast includes: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ving Rhames, Billy Crudup, Michelle Monaghan, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Keri Russell, Maggie Q, et Laurence Fishburne.

This action packed movie was filmed in Shanghai, Rome, Berlin and the United States.  It will be in theatres on May 5.
