Karl Lagerfeld to design jewelry for Orrefors

German fashion designer partners with Swedish crystal manufacturer.

Having already worked with Swarovski, Karl Lagerfeld, 77, has now chosen to partner with Swedish crystal manufacturer, Orrefors, to create a new collection, reports FashionMag.

The Chanel and Fendi designer did not give many details about the collaboration, which will be named Orrefors by Karl Lagerfeld, but says it will be a collection of crystal art which will be entirely designed by Lagerfeld.

The Orrefors glassworks founded in 1898, is known for individual pieces of crystal, stemware, and chandeliers. In more recent years, the company has worked to raise its profile and better compete in the world crystal market.

By partnering with the famous German designer, the crystal manufacturer plans to conquer the world of high fashion when they launch his new collection next spring.

While awaiting the new Orrefors by Karl Lagerfeld collection, one can also purchase brooches, necklaces and many other pieces encrusted with Swarovski crystals – all designed by Lagerfeld.
