Kasimir Kaskisuo confirms he won’t be returning to Laval

Last season, Kasimir Kaskisuo signed a professional tryout contract with the Rocket.

He quickly became one of Laval’s favorites because he got the job done in front of the net, and because he has a great personality.

But with the recent signing of Connor Hughes, we wondered what the Habs’ plan was with Kaskisuo for next season.

The goalie set the record straight in his latest YouTube video.

The content creator admitted it openly: he won’t be back in Laval, even if that was his goal.

The Habs have told him they want to move in another direction, and with the Hughes acquisition, it makes sense.

Now, Kaskisuo’s goal is to find a new job in North America.

All in all, Kaskisuo’s time with Laval was short-lived:

The 30-year-old veteran was approached to back up Jakub Dobes in Laval and did relatively well under the circumstances.

His stats really aren’t atrocious:

  • 7-4-0 record
  • 2.90 goals-against average
  • .909 efficiency rate

The goals-against average may be a little high, but let’s not forget that the Rocket’s blue line was young last season.

That said, I have a feeling he won’t have much trouble finding a roster for the 24-25 season.

He’s proven himself and can fill the second goalie’s chair in the AHL, after all.

I’ll miss his charisma, but I’m also looking forward to seeing what Connor Hughes has up his sleeve.

In Brief

– Lions lose coach.

– Quite a project!

– Makes sense.

– They’re hard to stop.

– A (very) nice addition to Serbia’s roster.
