E! Online reports that actress Kate Beckinsale finally received compensation from a fictional story written about her by the Daily Express.
The tabloid reported that Beckinsale was fired by producers of a remake of the movie Barbarella and was replaced by actress Rose McGowan.
Beckinsale’s lawyer, Graham Atkins, said that the article was totally false and greatly embarrassed his client. The false report also suggested that Beckinsale’s career was in decline. Atkins further stated that the Underworld star had never been involved in the movie and was therefore never fired.
The newspaper apologized to the actress, and had to pay her $32 000 dollars in damages.
