The film, which begins shooting next month in Montreal, was inspired by the comic book miniseries of the same name by Greg Rucka.
In the feature film, Beckinsale (The Aviator, Underworld, Pearl Harbor) will play a U.S. Marshall who travels to Antartica to investigate a murder. She arrives three days before the beginning of winter, which could leave her stranded on the continent with the killer.
The film will be directed by Dominic Sena for Gone in Sixty Seconds and Swordfish productions.
