Yesterday (April 20), the parents of future princess Kate Middleton shared a private meal with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip at Windsor Castle, reports Thisislondon.co.uk .
Carole and Michael Middleton had never met Prince William’s paternal grandparents, the Queen of England and her husband, Prince Philip.
"Catherine’s parents, Carole and Michael, had a private lunch with Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip at Windsor Castle today,” a source revealed. "Neither Kate nor William were present, however, certain members of the royal household were present."
The luncheon lasted for just over an hour and a half and was said to have a "warm" atmosphere.
"It was a lovely lunch, very warm with lots of laughter and I think it helped put everyone at ease,” said a senior palace insider.
Kate Middleton will marry Prince William on April 29 at Westminster Abbey, and the Queen will host a champagne reception at Buckingham Palace immediately following the wedding.
