British supermodel Kate Moss, 37, reportedly accepted a marriage proposal from Jamie Hince, 40, lead singer of band The Kills, reports the Sun. They’ve already set a date of July 2, and Moss’ eight-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, Lila, will be a bridesmaid.
The British guitarist reportedly popped the question in bed on Tuesday night (February 1), after Moss had turned out the lights to go to sleep. He turned the lights back on and got down on one knee, surprising her with a vintage 1920s engagement ring. The old-fashioned Hince even went to Moss’ parents beforehand to get their blessing.
A source close to the couple said last night: "Kate is delighted. Jamie is the man for her – they are soul mates. She just wanted to make him work for her hand in marriage.
"He has been badgering her to get married but she wanted to take her time. Over the last year they have grown so close, they are like man and wife.
"They’re going to have the mother of all weddings. It will be a huge party, one of the biggest she has ever thrown – and she’s thrown a few," the source added.
Hince and Moss were introduced by mutual friend Sadie Frost backstage at one the Kills’ gigs in September 2007. Before meeting Hince, Moss had relationships with several men, including actor Johnny Depp, rocker Pete Doherty and a brief fling with comedian Russell Brand.
