After actress Katherine Heigl criticised her own television series, Grey’s Anatomy, a representative of the show has decided to comment.
Yesterday (June 12), Heigl withdrew her nomination from the Emmy Awards, saying that the writing on her show did not give her character, Izzie Stevens, enough substance. Therefore, her acting abilities had not truly been shown.
A spokesperson for the show contacted EW.com to express how unfortunate it was that Heigl made such comments. He explained that the series had done everything possible to accommodate the actress, allowing Heigl to star in several other projects.
This isn’t the first time that Katherine Heigl criticised her own show. Last year, she was very vocal about her salary negotiations, saying that ABC didn’t value her as an actress. She still was given a considerable increase in salary.
In 2007, the star was given an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama.
