According to insiders, Holmes and Shields get on marvelously, even though Tom Cruise criticized Shields. Cruise had been blasting Shields for using anti-depressants to combat post-partum depression. The Mission: Impossible star apologized to Shields in April.
Holmes and Shields recently attended a charity event in Pacific Palisades, California. A witness revealed that the two, "were so lovely to each other."
On April 18, 2006, the two stars both gave birth at the same Los Angeles hospital. Holmes, 27, welcomed a daughter, Suri. Shields gave birth to her second daughter, Grier.
Brooke Shields explained that she is very attached to Katie Holmes, saying, "You never know how life is going to bring people together."
