Teenage Dream is the number one album on the Billboard 200 chart this week. It is a follow-up to Katy Perry’s highly successful debut album, One of the Boys.
The pop star has big plans. She told MTV: "I guess I’m looking forward to making music videos on this new album … and I’m really excited about incorporating the look and the idea of some of the songs on tour and making a massive production of it."
Perry has scored a home run with the first two singles off the new album, California Gurls and Teenage Dream. She wants people to see that she is no one-hit wonder.
The I Kissed a Girl singer told the music network: "This one will really show if it was all by chance that the first one happened, which I strongly don’t believe."
One reason for Katy Perry’s success is her strong, loyal fan base. She stays in regular contact with them via social networking sites.
She posted a message on Twitter: "Before I purr off to dreamland I want to say THANK YOU! Thank you so much for my FIRST #1 RECORD DEBUT! I couldn’t have done it without YOU. YAY CUPCAKES FOR EVERYONEEEEEEEEEE! #1TEENAGEDREAMDEBUT!"
