According to WWD, Katy Perry will launch her first fragrance in November. Purr is "inspired by Perry’s Catwoman stage costume" and she is sure her fans will be impressed.
The California Gurls singer teamed with the Firmenich company to create the fragrance. It is composed of notes of peach, apple, green bamboo, jasmine, freesia, Bulgarian rose, vanilla orchid, white amber, sandalwood and musk.
The singer explained: "There are amazing fragrances backed by other celebrities, but what I’m bringing is not like any other. It wasn’t just like, ‘I love gardenias.’ That would have been the easy route. I really wanted to develop a scent that was completely unlike anything I’d smelled before and not one that smelled like a knockoff of another scent. "
Katy Perry looks up to singer Gwen Stefani as an role model. Perry commented that Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers project was: "my example of how I want to do things."
