Katy Perry too sexy for Sesame Street
Katy Perry’s appearance on the popular television show, Sesame Street, has been axed because the YouTube version received too many complaints from parents that her dress was too low cut, reports thisislondon.co.uk.
The singer recently filmed an adorable performance, in which she sang her Hot N’ Cold song to the little puppet, Elmo. Unfortunately, the performance is marred by Perry’s “dress-up” clothes that are totally inappropriate for the young audience.
Following the complaints from parents, the producers issued a statement confirming that the segment would not appear on the show:
"Sesame Street has always been written on two levels, for the child and adult. We use parodies and celebrity segments to interest adults in the show because we know that a child learns best when co-viewing with a parent or caregiver. We also value our viewers’ opinions and particularly those of parents.
"In light of the feedback we’ve received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on YouTube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street, which is aimed at pre-schoolers. Katy Perry fans will still be able to view the video on YouTube.”
Watching Perry innocently chase Elmo around, one can’t help give one’s head a shake, what was she thinking? More publicity, perhaps. The flamboyant Perry would be wise to find someone she trusts to provide her with an occasional wardrobe reality check. View the performance online on YouTube.
